Upcycling Art

Following on from Waste Week, we collected our plastic bottles and spent Monday turning them into useful or simply beautiful things! Read our blog for more information and for photographs.

The whole class were gripped by the ending of 'I know what you did last Wednesday' when it was one of the group readers last term, so much so that we all stopped reading our own books to listen. So, by popular demand, our new class book is 'The French Confection' by Anthony Horowitz, starring detective Tim Diamond. After the horror of Grinny we are working hard to keep up with the barrage of jokes and puns in this short story!

So, here they are - our new mats arrived! Each one is enormous and they attracted a lot of attention as they stood on a pallet in the playground. Rolled out in the hall, they are fantastic. We will be able to get creative with flooring shapes and colours in our PE lessons from now on. A job well done!

Here are the photos of Chestnut Class on our trip to Wells as part of our 'War and Peace' topic.

Chestnut Class used j2code to produce pictures and patterns using logo programming. Have a look at a slideshow of the work they have been doing. They used 'airdrop' to send screenshots of their work to the iPad that was being used by their teacher.

This slideshow shows us opening our new class books, kindly funded by the WSA. You can see just how excited we were to get them. We absolutely love a good book in Chestnut Class!

Check out the latest videos from Chestnut Class - now including their weather forecasts produced using 'green screen' technology!

This image opens a powerpoint of our Key Stage 2 Trench-Building Project, inspired by our trip to Wells Museum and timed to coincide with our Remembrance Day Assembly.
