On Friday 10th October our Key Stage 2 children visited Wells Museum as part of their 'War and Peace' topic. They also went on a historical tour of Wells to visit key sites that were significant in WW1.
I must thank the WSA for agreeing to fund the cost of our transport into Wells and also the cost of visiting the museum.
The aim of this day was for our children to gain a greater understanding of how the First World War affected Wells, and how we can still see this today.
If you would like to find out more about the ehibition at Wells museum you can visit their website at www.wellsmuseum.org.uk
The Wells Journal also has lots of interesting local information on their WW1 pages at
Finally, a google image search of 'Wells WW1' will bring up some great photos of places that you might find familiar.
We have also posted some pictures from the visit on the Chestnut Class page!
