Brrrrrrr!

Winter has definitely arrived at Wookey Primary School! It really felt like December on the playground today, and I realised how lucky we have been with temperatures recently. I was absolutely astounded though by the reactions of some of our children when they were asked to put on their coats, which is why I am writing this blog post. Most children, but not all, actually had coats today, but some actually blamed their parents for not sending them in with one!! Can you please help us to reinforce the importance of wearing a coat in cold weather by ensuring that they bring one to school (although it should be their responsibility) and secondly can you please remind the children that they need to actually wear them at playtime? A number of our more active children seemed to think that it was ok to take their coats off when they warmed up a bit from running around, and they couldn't appreciate that they were starting to get cold again very quickly.
