Christmas Fair a big success!

Last Friday was our annual Christmas Fair at Wookey Primary School. I certainly enjoyed this one more than the last one, as in 2013 it coincided with our OFSTED visit!

We had a brilliant turnout, thanks to all those in attendance, and we made nearly £400 in profit, which will all be spent on the children.

Thanks must also go to the hardworking members of the WSA, as planning and organising a Christmas fair is not an easy business!

Perhaps the biggest success story on the night was the stall run by the Wookey Young Enterprise Group, who made over £40 profit, which was more than a number of other stalls run by adults.

I have just attended a debriefing session, run by Libby and Jane, the two parents whose brainchild the whole 'young enterprise' experience has been. The children were really excited to find out if they had made a profit and comments from the children included, "I didn't know how to work a business". "I didn't know how hard it was!" and "I didn't know how to work a business." They have now challenged themselves to make an even larger profit in their next venture, so keep your eyes peeled for updates.
