Why I decided to become a teacher

I had one of those sessions today which reminded me why I decided to become a teacher. I worked with Chestnut Class and we used a new app called 'Keezy' to add sounds to a performance of Anthem for Doomed Youth by Wilfred Owen, to tie in with our work on Remembrance. The children had to create and record atmospheric sounds / music which they felt would enhance their reading of the poem and then perform it to the rest of the class using the app to play the sound samples at key points during their reading. I was so impressed with the effort that all the children put in to this activity, and also with the way that they treated the poem itself with respect. I hope they enjoyed the session as much as I did. The app is free from the appstore, so if you have an iPad at home I would thoroughly recommend downloading it.
