Road Safety Concerns

It has been brought to my attention this week that some of our children are demonstrating a lack of awareness of 'Road Safety' before and after school when using the school crossing service on the main road.

When I was their age I remember 'Tuffty' and 'The Green Cross Code Man' but it seems that such high profile campaigns have vanished from our screens in the last few years (I have a vague memory of something to do with hedgehogs though). It is good to hear therefore that the Green Cross Code Man is coming back!

Until he does, we need to work together to remind our children of how to keep themselves safe on the main road to school. We will do our bit, but we need you to make sure your children stay close to you on the footpath and cross the road on foot ONLY when Mr P. tells them that it is safe.

They might look a bit dated, but all the public service videos featuring the Green Cross Code Man are available on YouTube, so you could do worse than look at them with your children.
